Bringing Hope and Changing Lives for Over 50 Years

Back to school program. Kids shopping at Old Navy with CCA staff.

It’s More Than Just a Backpack!

In Denton County, 35% of students depend on free or reduced-price lunch programs due to limited resources and poverty. The back-to-school season adds financial strain to these underprivileged families, as parents already struggling to provide meals are unable to afford even the most basic school supplies for their children. As a result, these young minds are often at a disadvantage when starting the school year.

Our Back-to-School program helps relieve this burden by providing students with new backpacks, school supplies, and the opportunity to shop for two new outfits at Old Navy.

Why is this so important? Studies show that students with the right supplies and clothes are more likely to participate in class, improve their grades, and build positive relationships with their peers.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, school supply prices have increased nearly 25% since 2021. While many parents are spending an average of $500 per child on clothes, shoes, and supplies, this isn’t feasible for many families.

Every child deserves to start this school year with dignity and confidence. Thanks to our community partnerships, we will help over 500 eligible K-12 students kick off the new school year for just $141.75 per child.

Kids eat free program. Kids receiving meals over the summer from CCA.

Feed Hungry Children this Summer

1 of every 5 children in North Texas is food insecure, meaning their households lack the financial resources to provide sufficient meals.

Kids Eat Free, our summer feeding program, helps combat this very issue by hand-delivering meals to families in need, ensuring no child goes hungry this summer.

Your gift of $36 can provide a week’s worth of nutritious meals for these children, and only $324 can feed a child for the entire summer, enabling them to thrive!

Thank you for remaining a beacon of hope for so many in our community! Consider giving today to make a positive impact on the lives of local children.
