You’re Officially Invited
Calling all runners, walkers, and community champions! Gear up for our Hopeful Hearts 5K/1M Stampede on September 28th in Old Town Lewisville. This year, the legendary Eugene “The Hitting Machine” Lockhart is joining us as Honorary Chair!
This event is more than a race. It’s a celebration of community and support for local families. Every dollar raised goes directly to CCA, helping us break the cycle of poverty in Denton County.
Registration is now open! Whether you’re aiming for a personal record or enjoying a stroll with loved ones, join us for a fun-filled morning of fitness, community spirit, and making a difference.
If you can’t participate in the race, we still need you! Support our life-changing programs today by donating online or becoming a volunteer to help out on race day. Every contribution counts.

Lorentz Automotive: A Legacy of Community Support
Lorentz Automotive, a family-owned shop since 1982, has long been a pillar of our community. Now run by Renae Lorentz, her son Cole, and daughter-in-law Claire, the family has supported CCA for 20 years in countless ways.
From volunteering in the Client Choice Food Pantry to organizing toy drives for our Christmas Cheer program, the Lorentz family has answered the call to help with nearly every program at CCA.
Each year, they go above and beyond by not only sponsoring our Hopeful Hearts 5K/1M Stampede but also coming out early to grill and serve their famous hot dogs to hungry participants. This family tradition has become a beloved part of the race, fostering the spirit of community, care, and connection!
Renae Lorentz shares, “We support CCA because they are authentic in all they do to help our community. We love being a part of the 5K, seeing how everyone comes together for such a good reason—to help others. And we love to be a small part of that in any way we can.”
We hope you’ll come out to our annual race in Old Town Lewisville on September 28th to join the fun, grab a hot dog, and experience the warmth of community!
Honorary Chair: Eugene “The Hitting Machine” Lockhart
We are so blessed to have Eugene Lockhart as our Honorary Chair for the Hopeful Hearts 5K/1M Stampede in September.
“I’ve been involved for many years with all types of charities. This is perhaps, with no doubt in my mind, one of the best ones I’ve been a part of,” Eugene gushed in a recent interview with our President and CEO, Gilbert Montez.
Since his successful career with the Dallas Cowboys, Eugene has been serving his community for many years with a heart for helping others less fortunate.
“All the things that a person needs when they fall on hard times, you guys are there to pick them up, turn them around, and put their feet on solid ground. And it’s just an absolute honor to be here. This is an awesome organization.” – Eugene
Be sure to come out and participate in the Hopeful Hearts 5K/1M Stampede on September 28th to meet the legend himself!
“You wanna be a part of this…Not only are you exercising yourself, you’re exercising your faith, and you’re exercising your gift to give back to a community that absolutely loves what they do.” – Eugene
