Types of Opportunities

Budget – Mentors (2 volunteers)
Flexible schedule - determined with client                  

Volunteers will provide direction, encouragement and support to a family by helping them establish and understand a basic budget. 

Requirements:  Additional meeting with Volunteer department, submission to background check and 6-month commitment.

ESL – Instructors (4 volunteers)
Thursday evenings                            7-8:30 p.m.                                          


Volunteers will help teach English as a Second Language. There are four levels offered and classes based on provided curriculum. Volunteers are not required to speak Spanish. 

Requirements:  Additional meeting with Volunteer department.

GED –Tutors (2 volunteers)
Flexible schedule - determined with client

Volunteers will work one-on-one with a client to provide tutoring on subjects included in the GED test. 

Requirements:  Additional meeting with Volunteer department, submission to background check and 6-month commitment.

Literacy – Substitute Teacher (1 volunteers)
Wednesday evenings                         6-7:30 p.m.                                          

Volunteer will help illiterate clients to read and write in English.

Requirements:  Must speak Spanish.
