Types of Volunteer Opportunities
Pennies from Heaven (3 volunteers)
Once monthly
Volunteers distribute donation boxes to approved business around the community and pick them up on a monthly basis and bring to CCA.
Requirements: Submission to a background check and proof of car insurance.
Family Assistance Program
Appointment Organizer (5 volunteers)
Monday – Friday 10 a.m.-12 p.m. or 1-3 p.m.
Volunteers will come on a weekly basis and make phone calls to clients confirming their appointments for the following week, what documentation they are to bring and providing any new information to the appropriate staff person. Spanish speaking is a plus but not required.
Requirements: Commitment of 2 hours a week for 1 year.
Caseworker Assistant (3 volunteers)
Wednesday or Friday morning or afternoon
Volunteers will assist CCA’s caseworkers by filing, entering data, returning phone calls, doing research and other clerical duties as requested.
Requirements: Commitment of 4 hours weekly for 1 year.
FAS Runner (5 volunteers)
Flexible – as needed
Volunteers will pick-up and deliver groceries and prescriptions as needed to CCA’s families. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to drive within CCA’s service area.
Requirements: Submission to a background check and proof of car insurance.
