Types of Volunteer Opportunities


Administrative Assistant (1 volunteer)
Flexible schedule – Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Volunteer will commit to 5 hours a week to assist the CCA Chaplin with phone calls, scheduling, data entry and other clerical duties.

Bible Study – Group Facilitators (8 volunteers)
Will set own schedule - 4 study groups with 2 leaders each

Professing Christians will facilitate Bible study based on a certain topic determined between the volunteer facilitators and CCA Chaplin. Will help guide group discussion and ensure group stays within time frame and topic of class.

Requirements:  Additional meeting with Volunteer department and commitment for length of study group.

Family Advocates (unlimited volunteers)
Flexible schedule

Loving individual Christians and/or small church groups that will advocate for a specific CCA family accepted into the Family Assistance program. Working as an integral part of the comprehensive CCA team helping an under-resourced family (typically a single parent family) reach certain well-defined goals, advocates will encourage, pray for and provide practical assistance on a weekly basis.

Requirements:  Additional meeting with Volunteer department, submission to a background check and 9-month commitment.

James 2:16 Ministry (unlimited volunteers)
Flexible – as needed

Individuals will utilize their God given talents, skills and abilities to help families of CCA when a family is in need of the service they can provide such as car repair and maintenance, housecleaning, home repair and maintenance, professional services, veterinary care, etc.

Life Skills Interviewers (8 volunteers)
Monday – Fridays             9 a.m.-1 p.m. or 1-5 p.m. 

Devoted Christians with strong interpersonal skills, a love for sharing their faith and encouraging others through prayer, will conduct interviews with CCA families. The interviews will help CCA get to know and serve our families better.  

Requirements:  Additional meeting with Volunteer department, submission to a background check and a commitment of 4 hours weekly for 9 months.

Visiting Chaplain (2 volunteers)
Flexible – as needed

Volunteers with pervious Chaplain experience will visit CCA’s families at their homes or in the hospital. Must be willing to travel within the CCA service area.

Requirements:  Additional meeting with Volunteer department, submission to a background check and a 9-month commitment.
