Community Service Restitution (CSR)

If you have court-appointed community service hours that you want to complete at CCA, you must first attend a CSR Volunteer Orientation.

CSR Volunteers at Christian Community Action

Christian Community Action does accept volunteers performing court-ordered community service. Volunteers who are performing court-ordered service must disclose the nature of their conviction to the Manager of Volunteer Relations. CCA will not accept volunteers who have been charged or convicted of violent crimes, crimes of a sexual nature, crimes involving family violence, crimes against children, weapons charges, burglary or identity theft crimes. Felony cases may or may not be accepted and will be reviewed on an individual basis. Also, CCA reserves the right to decline any volunteer or to limit the days or hours a volunteer may work. CCA also reserves the right to dismiss a volunteer at any time during their scheduled service.

CSR Orientation Sessions

All CSR volunteers are required to attend a CSR Volunteer Orientation at CCA prior to scheduling their volunteer service. This is a different orientation than those held for non-CSR volunteers. All orientations are held in the CCA Boardroom located on our main campus at 200 S. Mill in Lewisville. NO RSVP IS REQUIRED. We cannot accommodate new CSR volunteers except at the scheduled orientation time.

Orientation Schedule

During orientation you will learn about the various CSR volunteer roles and the Rules of Conduct for community service workers. CSR Orientations are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. and the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. You can drop in anytime during the hour.

Tuesday, August 3 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Wednesday, August 11   2 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Tuesday, August 17 CANCELLED
Wednesday, August 25   2 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Please come prepared for orientation as you will be asked to:

  • provide the paperwork given to you by your probation officer or the court - this paperwork must include the name of the court, hours and charge of conviction
  • sign a CCA Rules of Conduct agreement and Volunteer Waiver

CSR Volunteer Placement

The assignment of work location is dependent on the times available to work and the appropriateness of the location based on age and skill factors. Minors under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult to supervise the minor – but the adult is NOT to work along with the minor while he/she is performing community service hours.

Please note: The information above applies to court-appointed community service only. If you would like to perform other volunteer service hours (not assigned through the court system) please click on the ‘Become a Volunteer’ link under the Volunteer navigation button above.
