Corporate Volunteerism

Christian Community Action could not accomplish its mission without the support from the community. In the past year, corporate volunteerism has been on the rise. Employees from companies such as Citi Group, FedEX, JP Morgan/Chase, Sabre Holdings, Stryker, Target and Xerox have stepped up to volunteer on CCA initiatives.

Sabre Holdings (Travelocity, solutions in the global travel industry) started their "Give Time Together Kick Off" by sending their top 100 executives with CEO, Sam Gilliland leading the way, to help with various projects at CCA. The volunteers from Sabre Holdings were split into teams of 10-30 employees and tackled projects like helping in the reSale stores, the food pantry, with housing projects and in the community garden. We are thankful for Sabre’s executive management team for exchanging their business attire for T-shirts, blue jeans and tool belts to kick-off a week of global volunteerism at Christian Community Action.

JP Morgan/Chase employees were on hand to set-up items for auction before the Hearts for Angels Auction event. The annual fundraiser for CCA had 244 items available for auction and their assistance was very much needed to accomplish this task.

Target has also been a great assistance to CCA by sending more than 150 employees to help the new reSale by CCA Carrollton store be prepared for its opening on June 1, 2010. The employees helped sort and hang clothes, assemble fixtures and display furniture and housewares. Their support is greatly appreciated because the reSale by CCA stores provide income for CCA to fund programs that give back to the community.
