Christian Community Action held orientation for clients enrolled in the General Education Degree and English as a Second Language on Jan. 7 in CCA's Community Room. More than 35 new and returning students were attendance as they begin work on obtaining their degrees.
A 2007 graduate of CCA’s GED program, spoke to the orientation attendees about the importance of persistence and passion. She encouraged the group to help one another in their struggles, and assured them of the responsiveness of CCA’s teachers. Another 2007 GED graduate spoke to the orientation attendees in Spanish. She told the new students to keep telling themselves that they could persevere until graduation. Both graduates warned the students to avoid the easy route through the course.
