CCA's Christmas Toy Store provides parents with the
opportunity to shop specifically for their children, protecting
family dignity and preserving family traditions. In 2004 CCA
provided Christmas for 2,719 children. Gift tags listing suggested
gift ideas were placed on giving trees in stores, churches and
businesses throughout the community. Donors choose a tag, purchase
the gift, then return the unwrapped gift and tag to the tree or to
CCA.
Donated toys were set up in the CCA Toy Store. Qualified recipients
shopped with vouchers to purchase toys for their children. Parents
experienced the joy of shopping for their child's gifts, wrapping
these gifts, and then giving them to their children in the tradition
of their family. |

Kids Eat Free provides
meals for kids who qualify for the free and reduced lunch program at school.
During the summer months they receive a nutritious lunch.
Volunteer groups prepare and deliver lunches each weekday during the summer
to children. Gently used books are donated by schools, churches and
businesses and are also given to the children throughout the summer.
Special activities are planned for several Fridays. Past activities have
included picnics on a farm with hamburgers, hot dogs, music, games, prizes,
a clown, face painting and train rides. |

Back to School enables children from low-income families to start the
school year with a positive self-image and the basic tools they need to
learn. Our goal is to provide each child with two new sets of clothing, a
new pair of shoes, a haircut and a package of grade-specific school
supplies. In 2004, CCA provided supplies for over 1,500 children.
