History
Raymond Bandy Clinic. The center officially opened on Sept. 14, 1999,
but its origin dates back to 1996 when the center’s founder, Raymond L.
Bandy, Jr., M.D. was sent by the Lord to minister to the congregation of
Trinity Southern Baptist Church. At that time, Dr. Bandy decided that he
wanted to be a minister who helped care for the sick. His dream was to start
a faith-based health clinic for the working poor.
CCA collaborated with Dr. Bandy in 1998 to incorporate a health center in
the planning of their new building. The Flow Foundation, the Hillcrest
Foundation, and C & E Partners each gave a substantial donation to launch
the center. With the continuing financial support of the community,
businesses, foundations and individuals, the center’s ministries have
matured and expanded since 1999.
When the
clinic officially opened, Dr. Bandy saw six patients.
Today the center has over
1,500 patients with physicians, dentists, nurses, and other volunteer
administrative and healthcare professionals.
